It has recently been announced that all goods imported into the Mexican market will be subject to VAT at 16%.
The news arrived at the beginning of May and the new rate of VAT will take effect on 15 May: from that date VAT will be charged at 16%.
This move by the Mexican government is part of a series of amendments related to what has been called the New Mexican Country Tax Law Regulation, which will affect all exports to the Mexican market.
